Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son Anant Ambani got engaged to his childhood friend Radhika Merchant at Antilla on Thursday.
A great day for the Ambani’s yesterday when youngest son Anant Ambani’s engagement was solemnized at the famous Antilla on Thursday. Family kept the celebrations a Traditional affair. Anant and Radhika’s Engagement happened as per the old Gujarati rituals such as Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi. While Gold Dhana is a Gujarati pre-wedding tradition that pertains to engagement. Gol and Dhana refers to jaggery and coriander seeds. These items are distributed at the groom’s place where the event takes place.
Ambani’s accorded a warm welcome to the Merchant’s amidst Aarti and Mantra chanting. For the those unaware of Radhika, she is the daughter of Viren Merchant, the CEO of Encore Healthcare. Hails from Kutch, Gujarat, she has trained in Bharatnatyam for eight years and is the disciple of Guru Bhavana Thakar of Shree Nibha Arts. Also, the couple had a traditional Roka ceremony at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan.
Many Celebrities were a part of Anant and Radhika’s Engagement
Although traditional, but considering the high-profile stature that both families enjoy, many celebrities participated in the occasion. The Ambani family invited the who’s who of the world for the lavish ceremony, which was held at their home Antilia in Mumbai on January 19. From Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri, to superstar Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Varun Dhawan. cricketer Sachin Tendulkar along with his wife Anjali all showed up for the grand event.
Radhika became a center of everyone’s eyes after Ambani’s hosted a grand Arangetram ceremony at Jio World Centre. Arangetram means ascending the stage by a dancer on the completion of formal training. It is the debut on-stage performance of a student of Indian classical dance and music following years of training. Anant is currently heading the energy business of RIL, and is the youngest son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani.
