Gautam Adani, the chairperson of Adani Group has become the second richest person in the world.

Adani Group Chairperson Gautam Adani beat Jeff Bezos to become the world’s number 2 richest individual. The leader of the list is Tesla’s Elon Musk, whose worth stands at $273.5 billion net worth. As Adani Group of Companies shares hit their all-time high yesterday, the company’s net worth rose. Adani is only one among the world’s richest to have seen net worth this year. With $70 billion added to his net income, he became a centibillionaire in April. In doing so he surpassed Microsoft Corp’s Bill Gates as the world’s fourth-richest person last month.

Gautam Adani beat Jeff Bezos to become the second richest person in the world. With a net worth of $137.4 billion, he became the first Asian to enter into the leading 3 of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. In doing so, he beat the business magnate Bernard Arnault, co-founder of luxury fashion chain LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Earlier Adani had become the fourth richest person, beating Microsoft founder Bill Gates. When Gates declared he would donate $20 billion of its wealth to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gautam overtook him. Not only did he become the richest Asian in April but beat Warren Buffet too.

Gautam Adani’s Business profile includes verticals ranging from Airports to Green Energy. Also, the group has six listed companies in India that include the following.

Gautam Adani has contributed towards alternative energy business, considering the government is promoting green energy in the country. Adani in June pledged to contribute 60,000 crores in charity to mark his 60th birthday. This amount is a contribution to uplift the healthcare, education, and skill development, his logistics-to-energy conglomerate. The donation, the largest in the Indian corporate history made him at par with global billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg and Warren Buffett.
