“It doesn’t matter. Wherever we play, we try to do our best. I’m here to answer your questions man, not to fight with you.” After a gap, Kohli pointed to the same journalist asking: “How many times South Africa came close to winning games in India, can you count?”

Christchurch Incident

two years ago, the former Indian skipper had a horrible run during India’s New Zealand Tour. He failed to score runs and could total hardly 218 runs in 11 outings across formats, including a solitary fifty. It was his lowest runs on a tour. His failure to perform did not let him down and in spite of a meagre total of 242, he took field. As Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami bowled and scalped seven wickets, Kohli was all charged up to inspire his side. His video of swearing at the crowd went viral and he was trolled for giving a not so friendly send-off to his friend and counterpart Kane Williamson.

When a journalist asked Virat him about his on-field drama and advised him to show a better example, it irked Kohli. He replied to him in an angry tone.

“Virat, what’s your reaction to your behaviour on the field, swearing at Williamson when he got out, swearing at the crowd. As an Indian captain, don’t you think you should set a better example on the field?”, Kohli replied, “What do you think?.”

Kohli was irritated when a reporter advised him to set a better example.

Jibe at Pakistan Journalist during ICC T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli does not mince words and is known to be outspoken. So, when Babar Azam led side beat India by 10 wickets, the journalists asked if Ishan Kishan should have replaced Rohit Sharma. He replied back sternly to the Journalist if he wanted controversy. Rohit Sharma could not score as Shaheen Afridi dismissed him. Look at the response of Virat Kohli that shall get you in splits as well.

Virat Kohli answers the reporters

On being asked if 23-year old Kishan should play so that he can do better than Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain said, “It’s a brave question. What do you think, Sir? I played the team that I thought was the best.”

He added, “Will you drop Rohit Sharma from the T20 Internationals? Unbelievable [laughs]. Sir, if you want controversy, please tell me before, so I can answer accordingly.” All these Virat Kohli’s controversies have led to stereotyping Virat’s image as a brash and rude individual. However, there is plenty of virtues under that roughness.
