Virat Kohli admitted once that he was torn between his love for Cricket and Tennis. He preferred the former based on the influence of some of close people in his life. Father’s Demise Inspired Him To Work Hard

Known to everyone now, Virat Kohli’s father was actually the force that propelled him. He was the one who helped him take the initial steps in the world of cricket. The ace batsman share how his father would walk him to the West Delhi Cricket Academy (WDCA) and tirelessly drove him around town so that he could chase his dreams. He himself has admitted to gorging on Burgers, Butter chicken to his mom’s tasty delicacies, there was no cuisine he left untouched, making the most of anything scrumptious available on the streets of Delhi. He realized the importance to maintain a healthy diet and thereon stuck to a disciplined routine. And since marrying Anushka, he has turned completely Vegan.

Sachin Tendulkar Was his Role Model

Like many other cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar had been Virat Kohli’s Role Model. Ever since he became a part of the team, Virat had a great respect for the legend. After the Indian team reached the top in the ICC test rankings, he bowed to the legend. He also carried his hero Sachin on his shoulders and paraded him proudly stating how he carried a burden for the nation for 21 years. Sachin too heaped praises on Virat and mentioned him in high respect.

His love for soccer is also apparent and like Dhoni is seen dribbling the ball. Thus, it was no surprise that when the franchisee-based sports league made their presence in the country, he bought a stake in FC Goa, a team in the Indian Super League football tournament started in September 2014. Also, he became the co-owner of ISL Football Club FC Goa in July 2016. Talking about his love for the sport and his passion to spread it to every corner it demonstrates his intent. He mentions it in these words.

“You can’t be a complete introvert. Some might think I’m pretty young to do something like this or it is a step taken too early, but nothing is too early. If you believe in something you have to put your 100% commitment to it. I want football to grow in India.”

On his personal side, it is a joy to see him as a loving husband to his wife actress Anushka who reciprocates equal feelings. Together they are raising their daughter Vamika away from the glare.
