Gautam Gambhir Shamed Rohit For Pandya’s Replacement With Pant

In the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, Gautam Gambhir criticized the team’s decision to replace Hardik Pandya with Rishabh Pant.

During the current Asia Cup 2022 competition, Gautam Gambhir criticized Team India’s choice to insert Rishabh Pant in favour of Hardik Pandya. Although the Indian team won yesterday’s encounter, there was one person who did not seem happy. Gautam Gambhir shamed Rohit for his choice of India’s playing XI. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s choice to select Rishabh Pant and drop Hardik Pandya. Member of the World Cup 2011 winning team, Gambhir slammed Rohit’s choice of Pandya’s replacement with Pant.

“I WOULD not agree to having Rishabh Pant instead of Hardik Pandya. I would have definitely had someone like Deepak Hooda, who can bowl a couple of overs as well.”

Fans reacted strongly to Pandya’s replacement with Pant, relate it to personal issues

Dinesh Fans reacted strongly to Gautam’s statement for it seemed that the former batsman was bent upon replacing the 37 year old DK. They added that considering Dinesh was aging, he wanted to offer the spot to the the younger members of the squad. However Gambhir defending himself replied that was not the case. Gautam Gambhir shamed Rohit for replacing Pandya with Pant. He opened up on why he did that. While some fans took his stand sportingly, others thought it as jealousy. Here was his reasoning.

“BUT that’s more like-to-like replacement as well and he (Rishabh Pant) hasn’t done anything wrong. So for me Rishabh Pant should play, but instead of Dinesh Karthik. If you are resting Hardik Pandya, then I think Deepak Hooda deserves a go.”

In spite of Pandya’s Replacement With Pant, Indian Team came out Victorious

Pandya’s replacement with Pant did not make a difference. Although off to a jittery start, both Suryakumar’s and Virat Kohli’s batting helped India to post a creditable total on board. On one hand Suryakumar scored 68 runs in only 26 balls The Men in Blue were firing on all cylinders as soon as Suryakumar Yadav walked to the middle of the pitch. It took SKY only 26 balls to go past Kohli’s score and end the innings with 68 runs under his belt, which included six 4’s and as many 6’s coming off his bat.
