The world has been battling with the Corona pandemic for over 2 years. Covid symptoms reoccur even after a year of infection. With over 4.3 crores of cases, there have been over 5.22 lakhs deaths. Covid symptoms continue to The European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases( ECOMID) conducted studies to see the effects of Covid. 6 out of 10 people with SARS-Cov-2 have persisting symptoms after a year.
Symptoms of SARS-Cov-2
Some of the deadly virus symptoms include:
- Fatigue
- Shortness of Breath
- Irritability
Upto 40% of covid infected people have persistent symptoms. Besides, there can be multiple physical and mental problems. According to an article published in the Nature Communications, about 10% people infected by the syndrome experience post covid symptoms.

Covid symptoms reoccur after year
Most of the data to date, however, is based on patients who were hospitalized with Covid virus and it isn’t clear how it applies to infection cases more generally. When Covid extends beyond 3 months after it is termed as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.

Treatment Guidelines
The guidelines of National Institute of Health recommend the following:
- Nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) a sample collected from upper espiratory tract (i.e., Nasopharyngeal, Nasal mid-turbinate, Anterior Nasal, or Oropharyngeal) to diagnose acute infection of SARS-CoV-2
- In the event the above test is not feasible ,an antigen test may be used (AIII).
