RRR Movie wins 9th Spot in Sight and Sound magazine’s ’50 Best Films of 2022

Continuing its winning streak, SS Rajamouli’s directed movie made it to the ’50 Best films of 2022′. Now British Film Institute’s Sight and Sound magazine, known for its iconic once-in-a-decade poll of the greatest films of all time, has named RRR among the 50 best films of 2022.

SS Rajamouli’s spectacle RRR continues its dream acknowledgement globally. Recently the movie won numerous critics’ awards and a couple of Golden Globe nominations. And now, the greatest fiction extravaganza has featured at the 9th spot amongst the Sight and Sound Magazine’s ’50 Best Films of 2022′. The achievement is even more creditable, as the movie beat some of the Hollywood favourites. RRR Movie wins and beat the likes of Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future, Cate Blanchett’s TAR, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Everything Everywhere All at Once. For the unversed, Sight and Sound (also spelled Sight & Sound) is a British monthly film magazine published by the British Film Institute (BFI). The deemed magazine conducts every decade a Sight and Sound Poll. Its list features the greatest movies of all times since 1952.

RRR Movie wins, bags 9th spot in Sight and Sound Magazine Awards

SS Rajamouli had a stalwart star cast that included Ram Charan, NTR Jr, Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhat. SS Rajamouli’s led movie and won the top honours at the international awards. RRR movie wins again has bagged the 9th spot in Sight and Sound magazine’s ’50 Best Films of 2022’. The movie beat Oscar hopefuls Top Gun Maverick and TAR. Scottish film director Charlotte Wells’s directorial debut After Sun took the top honours in the list.

The movie is a tale about an 11-year-old Sophie’s summer vacation to Turkey with a loving and troubled father. Sight and Sound Magazine listed RRR as a euphoric adventure and listed it amongst the best films of 2022.

“Rajamouli’s whip-paced, delirious historical action-adventure fantasia makes fictional bromance from two real-life revolutionaries in a 1920s India under the yoke of colonial British despotism (Sic).”

Sight and Sound magazine listing adds another accolade to the many received

As the movie received a mention in the top 50 best list, it pushed the movie one step closer to the Academy nomination. Lately, RRR movie won the best music score award. MM Keeravani, the music composer of RRR, won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association award for the best music score. Movie featured amongst the top ten films of the National Board of Review, and SS Rajamouli won the Best Director Award from the New York Film Critics Circle.

The film has also bagged the Best International Film Awards at Saturn Awards. Starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film is loosely based on the Telugu revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who fought against British rule in India.
