Rakhi Sawant is not new to controversies. And this time Amboli Police has arrested Rakhi Sawant in connection with defamation charges filed by Sherlyn Chopra last November.
Amboli Police arrested Rakhi Sawant on account of the defamation charges. For the unversed, actress Sherlyn Chopra had filed a defamation FIR against the actress. In the FIR has been detained in connection with an FIR filed against her by actress Sherlyn Chopra. In her complaint filed against Rakhi, Sherlyn had alleged Rakhi of using ‘objectional language’ in November 2022. Also, the actress added that Rakhi released her objectionable photos and videos on social media platforms. She informed through her official Twitter handle confirming the arrest of Rakhi Sawant and the details of the FIR. Earlier, Sherlyn had also called Rakhi ‘gutter mouth’ and ‘potty mouth’.
Reasons why Police arrested Rakhi Sawant
It just did not start in a single day or a week. All hell broke loose when filmmaker and #MeToo accused Sajid Khan and businessman Raj Kundra got involved in the #MeToo controversy. Sherlyn Chopra attacked Rakhi Sawant for coming in support of the accused director. Sajid was involved in in 2018 controversy after nine women from the industry had accused the filmmaker of sexually harassing them. Sherlyn, Saloni Chopra, Aahana Kumra and Mandana Karimi, had levelled the allegations against him. In response, Rakhi had also filed a police complaint against Sherlyn at Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police station for making derogatory remarks. She accused the latter of affecting her personal life for her boyfriend started questioning her.
“I am really sad to say that due to the comments made by her about me there has been turmoil in my life. Because of her, my boyfriend has asked me ‘whether there is any truth in what Sherlyn is saying’, do I really have 10 boyfriends’. She just came and said whatever she wanted to in the media and now I have to pay for it.”

Talking to the paparazzi, Rakhi said that the police knows which complaint has merit and which does not. Later, Sherlyn filed a complaint against Rakhi for alleged defamation.
