Bappi Lahiri Passes Away, Fans Pay Tribute To The Legendary Singer Who Created Many Masterpieces in Bollywood

Bollywood has lost another gem today with the demise of Bappi Lahiri – a legendary music composer-singer. He died in a Mumbai hospital at the age of 69. He was fondly known as ‘Bappi Da’ and also earned a distinct reputation all over the world as the ‘King of Indian Disco’.

His family has issued an official statement that reads “It’s a deeply sad moment for us. Our beloved Bappi Da has left for heavenly abode last midnight. The cremation will take place on the arrival of Bappa From LA tomorrow mid-morning. We are seeking love and blessings for his soul. We will keep you updated. – Mrs .Lahiri, Mr.Gobind Bansal, Bappa Lahiri, Rema Lahiri.”

Bappi Lahiri was suffering from OSA- Obstructive Sleep Apnea and recurrent chest infection. He also suffered from Covid infection last year.

Bappi Lahiri earned a massive fan following all over the world for his incredible music. But what made him super special was his love for all things gold. He was known for wearing wearing heavy gold chains and jewellery. His love for gold was inspired by the American pop star Elvis Presley.

Bollywood also expressed deep grief over his demise.

Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani is “stunned” by the news of Bappi Lahiri’s demise. Vishal shared a throwback picture with Lahiri from the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and wrote, “We shared a mutual love and respect, and I’m grateful that Vishal-Shekhar were the first composers he sang for outside of his own songs.”
