Self-acceptance is a key to happiness
Girls with curls are unique. I love my hair. I took my time to really accept my curly hair. I had major insecurities because of my curly hair as a school going girl but now, I am proud of my curly hair. I do get clicked everyday while doing promotions but I insist not using any filter because I believe in accepting myself the way I am – self acceptance is a key to happiness in life.
I love my body and that is the reason why I said no to blur out the cellulite on the back of my thighs. I don’t use foundation; I love the way I look in my natural skin.
I love playing real characters
I believe that the kind of work that you do is a reflection of your personality – the kind of person you are in real life. I have played characters that I see in my day-to-day life. I am grateful to writers also for bringing out different kind of characters on the silver screen. I have met so many girls in real life who are very close to the characters I have played in films. That gives me a lot of satisfaction.
Love Hostel reveals my typical Delhi girl personality
The character that am playing in Love Hostel is that of a typical Delhi girl – plain speaking and confident. She is inspired by her grandmother; she is full of hope, unapologetic and she is proud of everything that she is and she knows what she wants. Vikrant has also played his character so well, his is a very layered performance. He is just perfect as Ashu who is very careful in his approach.

Working with Vikrant was a breezy experience. It was so nice and easy working with him. It didn’t take me long to find that chemistry with him, that rhythm with him. We did a very intense scene and I was blown away by the way he handled everything – his preparation, his knowledge everything.
I am excited about Sam Bahadur
When Meghna Gulzar first narrated the character of Silloo, I was so surprised since the character was so close to what I am in real life. When I read the script, I realised that I want to be in it, in the movie. I am really looking forward to this year since very soon am going to be on the set with them – Vicky Kaushal, Fatima and Meghna and I want to live that experience.
I want to do a dance-oriented role
I am manifesting a dance-oriented role but it’s really not happened in all these years. Now, I have left it to destiny, you know sometimes things happen when you stop bothering about them. I am sure it will happen soon – maybe I will find that kind of role and my soulmate together.
Women oriented roles are the flavor of the season
I am so happy to see that there are many women lead films happening in the industry now and I really want to be a part of a few of them. I have already done a few and feel happy to be a part of this change in the industry.
