Marathi Film started slow, however managed to avoid a big drop coming first Monday. The movie rearned Rs 3.02 Crores on the fourth day.

Marathi film Ved managed to hold its grounds on its first Monday. Movie, through its strong word of mouth and avoid a big drop on its first Monday. Riteish’s debut movie Ved earned a decent Rs 3.02 crore on its fourth day. In doing so it beat, Ranveer Singh’s starrer Cirkus. Movie’s success is attributed to a strong word of mouth. Subsequently, the movie has turned out as one of the highest grossing Marathi films of all times.

Many movie pandits, looking at the numbers have predicted the movie to be a success. With the movie already making more money on the fourth day, the results appear promising. The fourth day revenue of Cirkus yielded Rs 2.5 Cr. With Ved’s 3-crore Monday in context, its four-day total is one of the highest in Marathi film history.

Genelia D’ Souza’s makes a comeback with Riteish’s debut movie Ved

Featuring Genelia D’Souza’s, Ashok Saraf, Jiya Shankar, and Rahul Dev among others, Ved marks the comeback of Genelia. Besides acting in the movie, she has produced it as well. Based on the movie Majili, it is the actress’s first Marathi movie. Its precursor starred Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead. Although the movie started slow, but it has slowly picked up over the weekend. Ved may end up becoming only the second Marathi film ever to cross the Rs 100-crore barrier. So far, Sairat – with worldwide gross of Rs 110 crore – is the only release to achieve that. Ved represents a story of a young man who has only two obsessions, cricket and his girlfriend. When he loses his girlfriend, he loses his path.
