Radhe Shyam – A Romantic Saga of Contrasts

Radhe Shyam – Storyline

A love saga between two individuals Vikram Aditya (Prabhas) and Prerna (Pooja Hegde) who approach life in a different way. Somehow get attracted to each other. While Prabhas plays the character driven by destiny, Pooja’s character displays a more realistic look. Entwined with the beautifully composed ‘Ee Rathale song’ which demonstrates beautifully how the two met even with conflicting personalities. The song shows how the two can meet if the destiny is. Composed by Justin Prabhakaran, this song is a real melody. The movie has some comic scenes. However overall is a complete wastage as it fails to capitalize on the elite star cast including Prabhas, Sachin, Murali Sharma to name a few.

Story Review

There is no doubt that the movie has stunning visuals, background music and stunning looks of Pooja Hegde. However there is not enough strength in the storyline to challenge Prabhas Character. The irony with Radhe Shyam is that it fails to glue you as a spectator. Radhe Shyam thus became a victim of lackluster storyline that results in one feeling disconnected. In spite of being Prabhas magnus opus. The movie did gross millions but fell short of impressing the critics. The Indian Express rated the characters as clueless about the things they are doing while the popular critic Taran Adarsh blamed the writing. Whatever the critics say, the movie salvages itself owing to its stunning visuals.
