Muthu Japan’s Box office, Beats RRR to become the leading Grosser

South Indian actors have just dominated the movie industry since quite some time. Success of RRR, KGF and Bahubali have proven it time and again the popularity that the stars enjoy.

Over some time, South Indian movies and actors both have dominated the scene. Not only the movies continue to generate big numbers, but these movies have also topped all the major Bollywood charts. As these movies continue to hook audiences, the craze for these has spread overseas. Popularity of the South Indian stars is nothing new. Bollywood Industry has some of the stalwarts from the South since long. Rekha, Late Sridevi, Hema Malini, Rajnikant, Kamal Hassan have produced some of the movies.

Recently Rajamouli’s RRR set a record at Japan’s Boxoffice. And now Muthu Japan’s Box office lead and becomes the nation’s highest grossing movie. In doing so, the movie beat RRR. While Rajamouli starrer earned over Rs 20 crore in Japan, while Muthu collected over JPY 300 million over 100 days.

Rajamouli’s RRR had set a record at the Japanese Boxoffice. Additionally, the movie has so far bagged three international awards. Additionally, it is India’s official nomination for the Academy awards. RRR reportedly earned over Rs 20 crore in Japan and remains the highest-grosser film in many places. Recently, Rajinikanth’s Muthu has been breaking all the records and has been the highest grosser in Japan.

Muthu has sustained the top position in Japan beating SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Talking about RRR, the film was submitted in 14 categories at Oscars 2023. Fans of RRR are expecting the film to receive two or three nominations at the Academy Awards which will take place on March 12, 2023. The storyline of RRR is about two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem who fight hard for justice against the British rule.
