LSC Shabash Mithu’s Complaint: Movies taken to court for ridiculing the Handicap

Aamir starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Taapsee Pannu starrer Shabaash Mithu taken to court for allegedly making fun of the Handicap

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer movie Laal Singh Chaddha had been garnering attention ever since the announcement. In spite of the trailer looking promising the movie failed to perform at the box office. As they say ‘ Be careful of what you speak’, it just seemed to have come true for Aamir Khan. His interview back in 2015 became his current nightmare. During the infamous interview he had opened up about his and wife’s concern over moving countries due to intolerance. His comments enraged the fans and consequently led to the boycott of his current movie #LaalSinghChaddha. Movie was not well received and it crashed at the box office. Moreover LSC Shabash Mithu’s Complaint has also been filed for mocking the handicap of disabled.

After boycott Aamir and Taapsee suffer another setback, LSC Shabash Mithu’s Complaint

Laal Singh Chaddha was Aamir’s most awaited movie and high were the expectations with Taapsee movie Shabash Mithu. Boycott was not the only thing that hit both. Recently LSC Shabash Mithu’s Complaint was filed at the Calcutta Court for making fun of the disabled. Now the latest reports suggest that yet another complaint has been filed in the court of the commissioner. The complaint has been filed against Taapsee Pannu starrer Shabaash Mithu as well. Dr Satendra Singh, who himself is disabled filed the complaint and shared the copy that the commissioner issued on his complaint. According to the complaint, court has asked the makers of both Laal Singh Chaddha and Shabash Mithu to explain their side. According to LSC Subhash Mithu’s complaint, provisions of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 through demeaning remarks against specially-abled people.
