Rishab Shetty’s Kantara film has been dominating the box office and since its release, the movie has been continuously cashing big time. And the craze for the movie hasn’t stopped a bit. The movie not only continued to attract public, but also ended in setting a record in Karnataka state. Movie received both the audience and critics acclaim and collected Rs 168.50 Crores. In doing so, it beat KGF 2 which collected Rs 155 crore in Karnataka. Kantara reached another milestone and became the highest-grossing project in Karnataka. Kantara’s OTT Release had created a lot of buzz as expected. However, following its OTT release, the movie sparked a lot of controversy. A Kerala based band Thaikkudam Bridge’s recently claimed that Kantara’s song Varaha Roopam was in fact their song Navarasam copy. Band has now threatened Amazon Prime Video.
Post Band’s accusations, song removed in updated Kantara’s OTT release
After the band threatened to sue the streaming platform, it was eliminated from Kantara’s OTT release.
The band had shared the post on the social media informing the viewers that both songs are not related.
‘We would like our listeners to know that Thaikkudam Bridge is in no way or form affiliated with Kantara. The unavoidable similarities between our IP Navarasam and Varaha Roopam in terms of audio is therefore a blatant infringement of copyright laws.’

Filmmakers remove song from updated Kantara’s OTT release
Following the removal of the song, the band thanked their attorney. ‘Amazon Prime has removed the plagiarized version of song.
