As JJWS completes 30 years , Akshay revealed reason why makers rejected him after audition and called him ‘CRAP’

Who doesn’t remember Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (JJWS) ? JJWS became a craze with the teenagers and school going kids and songs hit the top of the charts. On one hand the song ‘Yahan Ke Hum Sikander’ became the anthem of victory and represented emotions after the win, the other ‘Pehla Nasha’ took to the top for its beautiful chemistry. Both the songs continue to spread the same magic even after thirty years. Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was a leading movie of the 90’s and even after three decades still rules our hearts. Besides Amir Khan and Ayesha Jhulka who played the leads Pooja Bedi played the role of Devika and featured in the unforgettable song ‘Pehla Nasha’. One of the most memorable part of the movie was her ‘Marilyn Monroe’ moment where her red skirt went flying in the song and became one of the most memorable parts of her career.

As JJWS completes 30 years ,director reveals Akshay rejection reason

Although a superstar in his own league, Akshay Kumar also auditioned for the movie. During a chat with one of the channels, Akshay revealed rejection reason. He said that the makers told him that he was crap. Therefore they rejected him at that time and the role went to Deepak Tijori which became a hit after the movie. Recently the movie director Mansoor Khan opened up on the allegation and said he felt ‘sorry’ for rejecting Akshay at that time.

Now the director has opened up to answer to Akshay allegations. Akshay Kumar during one of the interviews to a channel said that makers of the movie JJWS did not select him because he was ‘crap’. Additionally he mentioned that the reason of his rejection was that he still needed polishing his acting and he was very wooden during the auditions. The movie director also felt the comments disrespectful and in bad taste. He admitted that he only had a good physique back then.

Mansoor cleared that he also rejected Deepak who eventually got the role and Milind Soman was to play the role. He said that the actor even shot for some parts. He recalled what he told Deepak when he tested for the role, “Deepak you are a damn good actor. But I am sorry I am going with Milind Soman for his physique.’ But for Akshay Kumar, he didn’t say anything. However he gave his justification for Akshay’s reaction saying that the movie’s success must have left rejected.
