It seems that Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s powerful acting was just not enough to pull people to theatres. Movie showed dismal occupancy at many theatres.

Although, the weekend started on a great expectancy as two main movies, Vikram Vedha and Pooniyin Selvan were clashing at the box office. Epic in their own rights, the crowd were looking forward to the two and expected a battle royale. On one hand Aishwarya Rai was making a comeback with Mani Ratnam’s movie PS-1, it was pitted against Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha. The latter is in fact a Hindi version of the Tamil movie of the same name. The initial teasers of the movie had created a curiosity in people’s minds. There were hardly any doubts that Hrithik and Saif’s fans had done enough to set the movie rolling. However, the expectations got dashed to the ground as the movie failed to pick up. Hrithik-Saif’s Vikram Vedha collection was disappointing as the movie hardly managed to touch double figures.

Lead actors superb acting fail to lift Hrithik-Saif’s Vikram Vedha Collection

Audience was left disappointed as Vikram Vedha failed miserably at the box office opening day. Hrithik-Saif’s Vikram Vedha collection looked disappointing as the movie registered only 15-20% occupancy at the box office. On the other hand, Mani Ratnam’s PS-1 registered epic opening both in the local and international market. According to some sources the movie has made 80 crores and looks well on its course to enter the league into the 1000 crore club. Vikram Vedha started with a dismal opening and failed to pick up in spite of the weekend. Although Vikram Vedha has barely held on to double figures, it needs the right push in case it has to match Mani’s Pooniyin Selvan.
