CBFC gave Ayushmann’s movie Doctor G an ‘A’ certificate. This is the actor’s first movie to receive an adult rating.


Ayushmann Khurrana is not a newcomer to doing movies that deal with unconventional topics. Whether it was playing an individual suffering from Erectile Dysfunction in ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’ or an individual dating a Transgender in ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui he seemed to have done it all. He even started his movie with an unconventional character with Vicky Donor. the movie dealt with the topic of Sperm donation. Although, all these movies dealt with ‘TABOO’ topics considered as bold, they still were considered watchable with families. However, this time Ayushmann’s movie has come under the scanner of CBFC. They have rated the movie as ‘A’ indicating it has adult content. Doctor G is Ayushmann’s first adult movie. Previously all his movies received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Here are the trailers of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and Dr G respectively.

CBFC gives ‘A’ certificate to Doctor G, becomes Ayushmann’s First Adult movie

Hold on to your seats as we reveal Ayushmann’s upcoming movie. Doctor G, becomes Ayushmann’s first adult movie. CBFC has given the movie an ‘A’ rating. The category ‘A’ refers to ‘Restricted to Adult Audiences’ only. Besides the actor, the movie stars Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah and releases in cinemas this Friday. Doctor G is a story about a gynecologist and some of the jokes are skewed as not family friendly.

“The film is a story about a gynecologist and is riddled with terms and jokes that the CBFC members felt were not family friendly. They suggested that the makers should opt for an ‘A’ rating. The makers were not in favour of cutting scenes and dialogues as it would have taken away the spirit of the subject. Hence, they decided to go for the adult rating.”

Ayushmann’s first adult movie in 10 years, Doctor G passed without a Cut

Although the CBFC did not ask for any cut, they approved it with an ‘A’ rating for Doctor G. The movie is 124 minutes. In other words, Doctor G is 2 hours and 4 minutes long.
