And now the coveted director is all set for the release of his upcoming Tamil Language period action Ponniyin Selvan: I. Translating to son of Ponni, the first part is all set to release on 30th of this month. According to recent reports, Amazon Prime Video has received Ponniyin Selvan’s digital rights. Also, it has come to notice that movie makers sold the streaming rights for a high price. Ponniyin’s second part is also hitting the theatres in a couple of months.

One movie that the fans are awaiting with abated breath is Mani Ratnam’s and Aishwarya Rai’s movie Ponniyin Selvan. Before PS-I, Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam have collaborated four other times for Iruvar(1997), Guru (2007), Raavan (2010) and Raavanan (2010). The trailer and Audio launch for the movie happened at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Chief guests of the functions were Kamal Haasan respectively. While the movie releases in the theatres on the 30th of this month, amazon prime video has been rumoured to have received Ponniyin Selvan’s Digital Rights for 125 crores.

Aishwarya’s Ponniyin Selvan worldwide release in Standard and IMAX format
PS-I is the first part of a two series movie set to release worldwide in both standard and IMAX format. The movie stars Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Karthi will be seen in lead roles. The film also features Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram and Lal in supporting roles.
