Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan finally spoke over the ‘boycott of Laal Singh Chaddha’ trend on micro-blogging site Twitter. Aamir received criticism on social media for his comments about India a few years back. As a result, people started demanding a boycott of the film.

During an interview, Aamir Khan broke his silence and said- “Yes, I also feel sad that some people are saying this belief in their hearts that I am someone who does not like India. In their heart, they believe, but it is untrue. Unfortunately, some people feel this way. It is not so. Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film.”

Laal Shangh Chaddha Holi ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ is a remake of the Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump’. It also stars Kareena Kapoor, and Aamir plays a simple, kind man, originally played by Tom Hanks in the iconic 1994 film. When he was asked about the boycott call at a recent press event, he said, “Please, don’t boycott my film.” Significantly, in 2015, Aamir Khan made a controversial statement in an interview. “Our country is very tolerant, but there are some people who spread ill-will,” he said. His wife Kiran Rao also made headlines by saying that he should consider leaving the country for the safety of his children. Laal Singh Chaddha, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao and Viacom18 Studios, also stars Mona Singh and Chaitanya Akkineni.
