The movie has a star ensemble consisting of Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The movie is an official Hindi remake of the hit Hollywood movie Forrest Gump that starred Tom Hanks in the lead role. Recently the movie has garnered headlines as the movie received criticism. Consequently Laal Singh Chaddha got trolled. After the boycott trends became viral, and people accusing the actor to gain publicity for the movie. Following the trend catching pace, Amir Khan apologized for hurting people.

According to the excerpts of the interview, the actor had claimed that he and his then wife Kiran Rao suggested to move out of the country because of the increasing intolerance, which enraged people. On the other hand another section believed that Aamir Khan created controversy just to gain attention and publicity.
