Vaibhavi Merchant, Bollywood’s leading choreographer recently passed her comments on Pathaan movie controversial song, Besharam Rang. Featured on Deepika Padukone, the song created quite an uproar on the social media.
Pathaan’s song Besharam Rang created a storm on the social media. Following the uproar, the movie censor board jumped in and took it upon itself to amend the scenes found objectionable and rerelease. While many attacked the movie content, there were also a few who supported the movie. Recently Bollywood’s choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant’s comments surfaced about the movie. Supporting Deepika’s attire of the song she said the following. For the unversed, the movie has come under heavy criticism since the trailer released.
Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer movie Pathaan is all set for its theatrical release. After the first song release, controversy erupted with respect to Deepika’s orange coloured bikini, while SRK romancing her wearing a green shirt. Also, her actions led to various memes on the internet. Recently Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant’s comments put the controversy to rest. Attacking all the haters, she stated the following.

Not long ago Pathaan’s first released song created a stir on the social media. Deepika’s song on the beach with Shah Rukh Khan created controversy. While many left-wing leaders criticized the song and rated it vulgar, there were some who stood by the song. Among the supporters was Vaibhavi Merchant. The famous choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant comments came after the song faced criticism. Incidentally she happened to choreograph the controversial song supported her stand.
“I was very clear that I did not want it to look like a typical Hindi film beach party song. The song is very languid.” She further added, “It is laid back, it is that of adaa (moves). It does not have ki ab steps daalun iss mai, iss mai bohot saare movements daalun. (It was not about adding steps and movements).”

Vaibhavi Merchant comments came in lieu of defending her stand on the Besharam Rang song. Commenting on the actress’s moves, the choreographer opened up.
“Logically, also if the hero met the girl, obviously there has to be a chemistry, chemistry building. He cannot just land up at location, and start dancing. This song was about nuances, about adaa, about sensuality and relaxed in your body. Therefore, it made sense for even Shah Rukh’s character to lose that shirt of his and walk out. Nobody goes to a beach wearing fully clothes.”

Shah Rukh Khan was all praises for Deepika and exclaimed that only she could have carried a layer character. Deepika and it is quite a layered character for an action film heroine so to say. Pathaan stars Deepika Padukone, Vaibhavi Merchant and John Abraham in the lead roles. The film is set to release on January 25, 2023.
