Year 2000 was an epic year for India in beauty pageant when Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza swept the Universe, World and Asia Pacific crowns. Now claims of rigging have come forward, as former Miss Barbados Leilani accused Miss World 2000 to have been rigged.
Leilani who was a former Miss Barbados 2000 and current YouTuber alleged that the Miss World Contest was rigged. She hurled shocking allegations at Priyanka Chopra, who won the crown back then. Miss Barbados accused Priyanka of taking advantage of rigging to win the crown. Priyanka beat Italy’s Giorgia Palmas and Turkey’s Yüksel Ak to win the crown. And 22 years hence after the Priyanka’s win, Leilani has alleged that the contest was a set up to help the Indian beauty win. She addressed the subject in her latest You Tube Video.

Leila opened up in her current You Tube Video regarding the controversy at Miss USA 2022. The beauty contest was embroiled in a controversy of favoritism towards the eventual winner Miss Texa R’ Bonney Gabriel. Striking a similarity with the contest she was a part of in the year 2000, Leilani claimed that the Miss World 2000 had similar set of events.

Barbados’s former Beauty Queen Leilani alleged Priyanka of receiving extra treatment during the Miss World Contest. Not only did she have better gowns, but her food and most important she was allowed to wear a sarong, Leilani complained. She alleged that Priyanka had used some skin cream that led to many marks on the skin. Thus, she had used the sarong to cover up the spots.
“I literally went through the same thing at Miss World. I was Miss Barbados, and the year I went, Miss India won. Mind you, Miss India had won the previous year (Yukta Mookhey), the sponsor was also ZeeTV, and Indian cable station. Our sashes had ZeeTV on top and then the names of our countries. This is very familiar to me.”

Former Miss World hasn’t still reacted to these claims.
Priyanka is yet to respond to the shocking claims. She is currently in India to launch her Hair Product Anomaly at Nykaa showrooms. Actress is making a visit after three years and she absolutely dazzled in all-white as she returned to Mumbai after three years. During her visit she is scheduled to meet with movie makers for future collaborations.
