Bollywood stars and controversies go hand in hand. Bollywood has still not recovered from the sudden demise of the Television actress Vaishali Thakkar’s news. And now another shocking news has come to the forefront. An OTT scam case has taken the industry by storm. Cyber Crime Police arrested movie producer Akshat Raj Saluja for his alleged involvement in the case. Also, he tricked both actor Vivek Oberoi and Aankhen producer Gaurang Doshi in the scandal.
Case due to which the Police arrested Associate Producer Akshat
It all started when the producer Maan Singh filed a complaint saying that an individual Rajat Kumar Mourya promised to help him in selling his films on OTT platforms. Additionally, he mentioned that Rajat had showed him supporting documents from all the respective OTT platforms and had asked him 10 Lakhs per movie. In January 2021, he showed Maan Singh a letter of intent from Panorama Studios and claimed that the studio, known for making some of the leading films is interested to buy his film for Rs. 4 crores. After Maan Singh agreed and gave a token of 2.5 Lakhs first followed by Rs 1.5 Lakhs. Rajat kept asking money from Maan Singh and he obliged. He realized Rajat was cheating him, but by the time he ended up with Rs 48 Lakhs loss.
After complaint police arrested Associate producer Akshat, Rajat and Sanjay
Police arrested movie producer Akshat Raj, and two others namely Rajat Kumar Moury and Sanjay Saha for cheating, forgery, and breach of trust under the Indian Penal Code as well as under the Information Technology Act. Also, Saluja had a share of Rs. 7.50 lakh of Rs 48 lakh extracted from Singh. Akshat came in the limelight as Rajat had suggested Maan Singh to take the services of him for his movie. He took Rs 5.5 Lakhs from Maan Singh.
