Story revolves around the origin of Raksha Bandhan is the story of Krishna and Draupadi.

As is mentioned in a verse of Mahabharata, Krishna slit his index finger in battle, while hurling his divine weapon, the Sudarshan Chakra, at his nephew, Shishupala. Draupadi tore a piece of her saree and wrapped it around his finger to stop the bleeding. Lord Krishna seeing this unconditional love took a divine oath to protect Draupadi’s honour in the future. Also for the same reason, the lord came to protect Draupadi’s honour during the infamous disrobing. Raksha Bandhan holds a great importance in Hindu Mythology and this festive occasion has been running for centuries. Bollywood movies reflect the society in general. Bhool Bhulayiaa star Kartik Aryan took to his Twitter handle to express their feelings on the occasion. Kartik Aryan in 2020 shared a loving post for his sister Kritika Tiwari. His sister being a doctor, Kartik added a funny touch to his wishes. He’s seen as if he about to touch his sister’s feet in the picture and captioned it, “ab behen doctor ho toh Raksha ki zimmedari bhi uski. @dr.kiki_ blessing me !! Happy Rakshabandhan Everyone.”

Priyanka is extremely close to her brother. In an emotional picture Priyanka had earlier shared a picture from her wedding with Nick Jonas. Posting a picture showing her brother Siddharth Chopra walking her down the aisle. She captioned the picture “Happy Raksha Bandhan to everyone celebrating and to my incredible brood of brothers. I’ve always loved this special festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. I feel so blessed to have these wonderful, sensitive, supportive men in my corner always. I miss you all so much. Sending lots of love and hugs and oh also…as part of tradition… waiting for my gifts.”

Amitabh Bachchan laid down the significance of the festival. He referred the festival as that of a protection and security for the sister as her brother takes a pledge of protecting her. Additionally he added that it is a promise to which the brother has to stand in times of trouble. An oath a brother takes to safeguard her from evil and ensure that he shall be with her in every hour. His daughter too posted a image of her and brother with loving wishes.

Ranbir Kapoor is extremely close to his sister and niece Samaira and often posts their pictures on the social media.
